Loyd Michael Sak was born April 5, 1950 in Toppenish, WA to John Albert and Elaine Audrey Sak. Loyd passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026 in Sunnyside, WA . Loyd made his home in Mabton, WA. Loyd enjoyed many things such as skiing, jeeping and snowmobiling, but his real love was horses. It was while attending college he became interested in Rodeo, especially team roping. He roped in many events and later became interested in team penning where he won many awards and judged for many years. Above all, Loyd was a farmer and a good one. He raised wheat, corn, barley and hay as well as cattle. There was very little he could not do, always willing to lend a hand to family and friends. Loyd’s greatest pride was his son Robby. He instilled much of himself in his son. The two were much alike.
Loyd is survived by his son, Robby and daughter-in-law, Robbin. One brother Lowell and wife Lyn and two sisters; Jeanne (Milton) and Victoria (Paul) as well as an adopted sister, Robin (Dave). Donations may be made to Loyd’s favorite charity: Sort For The Cause, 1781 Beane Rd., Moxee, WA 98936. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Those wishing to sign Loyd’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com
