If life is what you make it, Mary made it memorable and full of love. Wherever she was, warmth, wit and love were never far away.
Mary Lura Korrell was born in Firstview, Colorado on May 16th, 1930 to Earl and Ruby Korrell. The Korell family moved from Colorado to Prosser Washington in 1947. Mary enrolled at Prosser High School for her senior year, graduating in 1948. While attending a dance at the local Grange hall she caught the eye of a handsome Dairy Farmer. Love blossomed and on February 10th 1949 Mary married James Curtis Conatser (JC) and joined him at the farm on Griffin Road. Daughter Kathryn Kay arrived on June 3rd 1950 and Son Kenneth Jay followed on July 10th 1953. Mary and JC would continue to call the house on Griffin Road home for the rest of their days.
If there ever was a superwoman Mary was the definition. Throughout her time on Earth she tackled life with intense determination. Her talents were many. As a Dairy Farmer there were the 4:00 a.m. milkings - get'er done. As a handywoman, plumbing, electrical, and even construction was no problem! As the business proprietor of Collector's Delight Antiques and Mary's Sewing Shop the hard work and long hours were taken in stride. Mary's interests were diverse and her hands were always busy. Sewing, painting, doll making, collecting and making her much loved candies all fueled her creativity. Above all was Mary's love for her family. Providing and caring for her loved ones was her strongest motivation throughout her life. As always doing things her way, Mary departed in the early morning hours on October 31st 2023. Mary was proceeded in death by her husband JC and her son Ken. She is survived by her daughter Kathy, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
