On March 16, 2026, Mary Robles Partida, age 80, of Sunnyside, WA, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, whose life was deeply rooted in love for her family.
She was born on September 16, 1945, to Celedonia Alvarez and Refugio Robles. In 1963, Mary married the love of her life, Fidel Partida, and together they began building their family in 1964. Side by side, they raised eight children: Anita, Fidel Jr., Roel, Danny, Raul, Michael, Ida, and Dolores. Her family grew to include many grandchildren and great-grandchildren—along with the beloved four-legged companions she welcomed just the same.
Mary spent many years working tirelessly to provide for her family. She worked in the fields as a migrant worker, later served as a classroom assistant, and dedicated many years to night shifts at Independent Foods and eventually Seneca Foods. Beyond her work, she was a quiet advocate for others and remained grounded in her faith as a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, often watching services from home.
Mary found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved crocheting, watching television—especially Walker, Texas Ranger—coloring, doing word searches, planting flowers, and tending to her garden, often alongside her husband. Together, they shared simple routines that reflected a lifetime of companionship, including many trips to Goodwill. Throughout her life she enjoyed collecting trinkets, or as she called them, her little “monitos,” loved lemon meringue pie, and her favorite color was lilac.
Mary had a gift for storytelling, a sharp wit, and a laugh that could fill a room. Even in her final days, that spirit never left her. She continued telling stories and making her family laugh, reminding everyone of her humor and strength. These are some of the moments her family will forever be grateful for and carry with them.
Her home was a safe haven—not only for her children and grandchildren, but also to the neighborhood kids on 10th Street who knew they were always welcome without judgment. She led with love, doing her best to raise her family with peace, joy, compassion, and resilience. No matter where life took them, her family always felt the comfort of home with her.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Fidel Partida; her sons Fidel Partida Jr., Michael Partida, and Daniel Partida; and her son-in-law Frank B. Zamarron. She is survived by her children Anita (Lorenzo), Roel (Esthela), Raul, Ida (David), and Dolores (Mike), along with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were truly the center of her world.
Mary always reminded her family to be strong, but with great love comes great pain. She will be deeply missed—her voice, her laughter, her stories, and the way she made each family member feel seen and loved. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is finally reunited with her beloved husband and sons, whom she missed so much. Her family will carry forward her strength, her love, and the cherished memories she gave them. Until we see you again, we’ll be missing you.
