Mary Ann Wright Bedker, 93, longtime Zillah resident went to be in the arms of her Heavenly Father on Thursday, October 2, 2025. Mary was born on November 26, 1931 in Ulysses, KS, the daughter of Alfred and Jessie (Basler) Coder. She received her education in Granger, WA and graduated with the Granger High School Class of 1950. On Aug. 7, 1950 she married Clair Wright in Coeur d-Alene, Idaho. Following their marriage, they made their home in Granger before moving to Pasco, WA. Mary worked for twenty years for JC Penney Co. in Kennewick, WA. Her husband Clair Wright died in 1989. On July 1, 1990, Mary married Vonard Bedker in Reno, NV. They lived in Mabton until 1994 when Mary and Vonard moved to Zillah, WA. In her early years, she attended the Presbyterian Church. Vonard and Mary loved traveling throughout the US and abroad. She enjoyed music, loved to play Bridge every Thursday, camping in their 5th wheel, fishing with family and friends. Mary cherished many years of fun with her Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters. She is survived by her daughter Vicky Myers (Ronald) of Prosser, WA, and step-daughter Patti Donahue of West Richland, WA, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband Clair Wright, 2nd husband Vonard Bedker, son Jerry Wright, daughter Beverly Jean Ware, grandson Timothy Wright. She is also preceded in death by all of her siblings, brothers Russell, Wallace, Howard, George, Richard, and Dale, and sisters Mina Jorgensen, Margorie "Teddy" Bridger, Maxine Walker, and Janice Bottineau.
Viewing and visitation will be on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA with burial to follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Heart Assoc. and Diabetic Foundation are appreciated.
