Maurice Joseph Charvet
Born August 1, 1935 at Mabton, WA. to Ben and Marguarite Charvet.
Maurice attended Catholic Boarding schools throughout his early childhood, and graduated from St. Martin’s High School in Tacoma, WA
Maurice spent most of his life working at the family Hop Ranch. He also tried his hand at growing fruit for several years. In his later years, he worked for the Grandview School District as a bus driver and truly enjoyed his interaction with the kids who rode his busses.
In his early life, he enjoyed water skiing, golfing and fishing. Maurice was one who always was eager to lend a hand to anyone who needed help in whatever projects they were doing at the time. He was a very likable man and was a joy to talk and visit with.
Maurice was married for a short while to Judy Schreiner and had a son, Jaime, who tragically died on his 13th birthday in 1983.
Maurice was proceeded in death by his parents, baby sister Lucy (2), Sisters: Madeline, Lucille, Mary Teresa and brother: Ben.
He is survived by numerous nephews, nieces, and grand nephews and nieces, as well as numerous lifelong friends. Maurice passed away after a short hard fight with cancer, with loved ones by his side, in Kennewick, WA.
At his request, he will be interned beside his son Jaime at the Mabton Cemetery.
We would like to thank Tri-Cities Chaplaincy/Hospice for all their compassionate care in his last days.
