Ramona Lopez Vialon Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ramona Lopez Vialon, affectionately known as Mona, who peacefully passed away on March 9th 2025 in Grandview WA, at the age of 85.

Mona ws born on August 31st,1939 in Santa Rosa Texas. In 1955 she met and married Ramiro Vialon, and together they built a beautiful life and family. They were blessed with seven children Ramiro Vialon Jr, Linda Sarmiento (Robert)Jessie Vialon, Diana Lee Maciel (Juaquin), and Maria Elena (Skip)Lemmon, Delinda Guadalupe Rodriquez (Steve) and Ramona Erica Ayala.

Mona was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and sister leaving behind a legacy of love through her family.

She is survived by her daughters, 32 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Juanita Moran and Toni (Allen) Jones, and her brother Arturo Romero. All from Texas. Mona is preceded in death by her beloved husband Ramiro Sr, her two sons Ramiro Jr and Jessie Vialon, and two grandchildren Veronica Ayala and Freddy Ayala.

Before settling in Sunnyside, Mona and her family traveled through many states working in the fields as migrant laborers. Eventually they made Sunnyside their permanent home in 1970. There they built a loving home and embraced the community Mona grew to cherish.

Mona was a hard-working woman that worked alongside her husband to provide for her family, then arriving home to cook a homemade meal for her family.  She stepped up to the plate when her husband got injured and was unable to work, she took on the head of household role and never complained.

Mona had a vibrant spirit and love for life. She enjoyed thrift shopping with her girls, playing bingo and visiting casinos. She also enjoyed playing scratch tickets, always saying "one day I am going to win big". Mona also loved taking walks to the cemetery to visit her son's gravesites, She enjoyed going on fishing trips with Apa and the family to Crowe Butte. She was famous for her homemade flour tortillas, a family favorite that even local law enforcement would stop by to enjoy.

Mona had a gift for making people laugh, even those she had just met, bringing joy and warmth to everyone around her. Her youthful sounding voice will never be forgotten, she would be asked " can you get your mom on the phone" plenty of times when she was trying to make an appointment. Her warmth, strength, and love will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue through the family she so deeply cared for.
