Rebeca Amador Obituary

Rebecca Rodriguez Amador, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Born on June 6, 1927, in Brownsville, Texas, to Carlos and Julia Rodriguez, Rebecca was the epitome of strength and grace. Rebecca received her education in Brownsville, Texas. After marrying the love of her life, Gonzalo Amador, in 1949, they moved to Sunnyside, Washington. Together, they built a home filled with love and warmth, raising eight children in Sunnyside. A dedicated homemaker, Rebecca's life revolved around her family, and she later took on the cherished role of caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for her green thumb, Rebecca found great joy in tending to her beautiful roses, which flourished under her loving care. Her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing
spirit. Rebecca is survived by her brother Augustine (Lupe) Rodriguez and her eight children: Gonzalo Amador, Robert (Virginia) Amador, Rey Amador, Steve (Leticia) Amador, Rick (Leticia) Amador, Michael (Barb) Amador, Diana (Ed) Little, and Gracie (Michael) Williams. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Carlos Rodriguez; her siblings, Maria Flores, Ramon Rodriguez, Charlie Rodriguez, Amelia Almeida, and Severiano Rodriguez and her husband, Gonzalo Amador. Rebecca was a devout member of El Calvario Church for countless years, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing nature, and her deep commitment to her family. Rebecca will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loved ones who passed before her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, WA with a graveside to follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Garden Cemetery, in Sunnyside, WA.
