Reymundo D. Torres “Rey” 76 years of age passed on Sunday, February 4th, 2024, at The Orchards in Grandview Washington. Reymundo was born March 15th, 1947, in Sebastian Texas to Gregorio and Guadalupe (De Lara) Torres. He was oldest of 8 brothers and sisters. Reymundo attended school in California and Washington.
Reymundo married the love of his life Minerva May 6th, 1966, and 3 children were born from this union. He worked various jobs throughout his career. He was a farm laborer, until he settled at Independence for 26 years until retirement.
Reymundo enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, attending his grandchildren’s birthday parties and sporting events. In his past time, he enjoyed watching softball at the Lincoln fields in Sunnyside.
Reymundo is the father of his oldest daughter Myrna Torres (Ruben Singleterry) and son Daniel Singleterry, son David Torres and daughter Natalja Torres. Youngest daughter Maricela Torres and children Mikayla, Marlissa and Maddison Barron.
He is preceded in death by his wife Minerva Torres and daughter Maricela Torres, parents Gregorio and Guadalupe Torres and special friend JJ Reyes and numerous aunts and uncles.
Raymundo’s family would like to send a special thank you to all the nurses and caregivers at The Orchards in Grandview for all the love and support these past few months.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of the at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, WA with burial to follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.
