Richard M. Riojas

Richard M. “Rick” Riojas age 66 of Sunnyside, WA passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Rick was born August 15, 1958 to Manuel and Darlene (Ambrose) Riojas in Toppenish, WA. He received his education in Toppenish and Zillah. Rick graduated from Zillah High School and then attended UW in Seattle, WA. He returned home to work at Washington Beef in Toppenish, then left to go carry on the family business Riojas Trucking. Rick retired in 2010 due to his illness Multiple Sclerosis.  He enjoyed watching the Seahawks and Western movies. Rick also loved spending time with family.

Rick is survived by his wife Maria Riojas, sons: Enrique (Bria) Fernandez, Alex Jr. (Candy) Fernandez, Juan (Becky) Gonzalez and family, grandchildren: Al3x, Yzabella and Khaleesi Fernandez, Ricky, Bianca and Roxy Chavez and great grandchildren: Jaylyn, Jay and Vince and daughter Senaida Gonzlez.  He is also survived by his mother Darlene siblings: Larry (Jenny), Tony (Heide), James (Shawn) and Ciss Riojas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter Adrian Riojas and father Manuel Riojas.

Viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA.   Mass of Christian Burial will be held be on Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, WA  Those wishing to sign Rick’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
