Rita Marie (Montelongo) Morris, age 49 of Lewiston, Idaho met her Lord and Savior on June 20,
2021, after losing her courageous battle with cancer. Rita was the second oldest child (and twin) born on March1, 1972 to Rene and Yolonda (Hernandez) Montelongo in Sunnyside WA. Rita received her early education in Grandview, WA then completed her final education in Mabton, WA. Graduating with the class of 1991. Rita proceeded with her higher education at Trend College graduating in March of 1993 with a degree in Professional Office Administration. Rita also held degrees as a Medical Assistant and Registered Phlebotomist.
Rita married the Love of her life Sgt. Timothy A Morris on March 18, 2006. Rita and Timothy then moved to Texas and then Oklahoma while Timothy was on Active Duty. After 24 years of service, they returned to WA and then made their home in Lewiston, ID.
Rita was employed at Lewiston Valley Medical center before becoming ill, where she made numerous friends. Rita had a deep love for her husband and family and loved spending time with her three dogs Jack, Macy and Sammy. Rita was a beautiful soul and will be remembered for her immense love and compassion for others.
Rita is survived by her loving husband Timothy A Morris, her parents Rene and Yolonda (Hernandez) Montelongo, sisters Ruby Silva and Leah (Adrian) Olivarez, and brother Rene Montelongo, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday June 28, 2021 from 4pm to 8pm with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6pm at Sunnyside Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Sunnyside Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 10am. Burial will follow at the Mabton Cemetery. A reception will follow at Reale Hall 600 Stover Rd in Grandview, WA.
