Robert “Bob” Greenhalgh August 24, 1943 – January 9, 2026 Robert “Bob” Greenhalgh, 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by those he loved. Bob was born on August 24, 1943, in Prosser, Washington, and grew up in Sunnyside, Washington. In 1970, he settled in Richland, Washington, where he built a life with his beloved wife, Gloria, and made their home for more than five decades. Bob was a true patriot, proud of all who served and sacrificed for this great country. He was a United States Navy Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he attended Perry Technical Institute, where he earned a degree in Instrumentation. He went on to dedicate many years of service to Energy Northwest, from which he later retired. Above all else, Bob was a man of strong and unwavering faith. His love for Jesus, his family, and his friends was evident in everything he did. Bob never met a stranger and was always willing to talk with anyone, often sharing his faith and offering encouragement with warmth and a “Bless you” or a “Praise the Lord.” Bob is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; his cherished children and grandchildren, Julie Ferguson (son-in-law, Glenn) and Justin Greenhalgh (daughter-in-law, Joey); and his grandchildren, Bergen and Rowan Ferguson, and Ella, Carter, Lincoln, and Emmett Greenhalgh. He is also survived by his brother Jack Greenhalgh, brother-in-law Glen Preuninger, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Johnny Greenhalgh; his brother Terry; his twin sister Robin; and his niece Deanna. Bob will always be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to listen, share a good story, and his desire to share the love of Christ with everyone he met. His legacy of faith and compassion lives on in the many lives he touched. “Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” – Matthew 25:23 “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.” –Isaiah 46:31 In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to your local Meals on Wheels.
