Ruben B. Castro passed away October 1,2024. He was born April 9, 1934 at La Villa Texas. He married the love of his life Raquel Ramirez Castro on December 21, 1952. They migrated to Washington in 1953 where they made their living and had 12 children. He lived a life where he was able to see a total of five generations.
Ruben enjoyed being surrounded by his family, loved fishing, hunting, and shooting pool. He was full of life and had such a wonderful sense of humor. He had a way of keeping his grandchildren on their toes by being mischievous in his storytelling; to the point they all at times believed him.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents Melquiades and Theadora Castro, his brother Rodolpho Castro, and his son Rodolpho Castro. Ruben is survived by his children Ruben Castro Jr., Felipa Castro Hernandez, Sara Castro-Herrera, David Castro, Daniel Castro, Samuel D Salazar, Maria del Carmen Castro, Sylvia Sue Castro, Rebecca Castro-Hardy, Samuel Castro, Isreal Castro, Lisa Ann Castro, Gracie Lee Castro-Cantu.
Ruben will live in our hearts forever and will be missed.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside, Washington. A Mass of Christian Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Sunnyside, Washington, with a graveside service to follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Garden Cemetery, in Sunnyside, Washington.
