In loving memory of Ruben Mariscal February 14, 1944 - March 14, 2026
We announce the passing of Ruben Mariscal, a loving husband, devoted father, cherished brother and grandfather whose strength guidance, and unconditional love shaped the lives of all who knew him. He was a man of integrity, quiet wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his family. Ruben was born February 14, 1944, in Pueblo Yaqui, Sonora. In 1963, he immigrated to the United States, where he began working in agriculture, Ruben earned the respect of his peers and eventually became a foreman. In the 1980s, he proudly became a United States citizen.
On November 5, 1976, Ruben married the love of his life, Maria Castañeda. Together they built a life centered of family, faith, and hard work. As father, Ruben led example, teaching the value of hard work, honesty, and perseverance. He was a steady presence, always ready with encouragement, support, or listening ear. His love was constant, and his pride in his family was immeasurable. Ruben also took great pride in his garden, dedicating many years to caring for it with patience, love, and hard work.
Ruben was preceded in death by his father Domingo Mariscal; his mother, Aurelia Mariscal, his siblings; Vicente Mariscal, Camilo Mariscal, Juana Mariscal-Guzman, and his daughter Estela Mariscal.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria Mariscal: his children Vicente & Ashley Mariscal; Fermin Mariscal & Esmeralda; Gerardo Mariscal; his cherished grandchildren: Johnny Mata; Angelia Mata, Laura Mata, Eziquiel Mariscal, Mika Joy, Marissa Mariscal, Fermin Mariscal Jr.
Ruben leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, service, and family which will continue through generations. Though our hearts ache in his absence, we are comforted by the countless memories and lessons he leaves behind.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 from 4:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Grandview, WA. Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Grandview, WA.
