Sally M. Padilla age 79 of Sunnyside WA passed away on Saturday March 14, 2026 just 14 days shy of her 80th birthday at her assisted living home.
Sally was born on March 28, 1946 to Victor and Maxine Sullivan from Seattle, Washington. She met the man of her dreams Gregorio Padilla they fell in love and were later married on May 1, 1966 in Seattle.
Sally was a wonderful homemaker and wife of an Army Veteran. She later became a mother to her only son Michael. Sally made lifelong friendships in her community and church. She loved to cook and bake and the smells coming out of her kitchen were always welcomed by her family and friends. She liked reading, crafts, shopping and working in her beautiful garden.
Sally loved her family and Jesus; she took her faith very seriously and never missed mass on Saturday evening if at all possible. When she lost her husband of over 40 years, it was her faith that helped her survive his absence in her life. She was blessed with amazing friends. She was also a parishioner at St. Josephs in Sunnyside for over 29 years and volunteered on the parish finance committee helping them to balance their budget. She was a true servant of Christ.
Sally was blessed with the gift of gab and laughter. As a child they nicked named her Silly Sally Sullivan because she was always cracking jokes and making people laugh.
Every person who knew her was affected by her cleaver wit and her ability to always make you smile. She was a classy lady and never went out in public without her jewelry and stylish outfits.
She would want to be remembered as a happy person, although her last years on this planet were confined to her home and later to her bed, she could still crack a joke or come up with something to make you laugh. Sally wouldn’t want people to mourn her death, rather celebrate her life. In honor of her memory, please remember to do random acts of kindness for others.
Sally is survived by her son Mike Padilla and wife Heather, Granddaughter Erika Hamm and her husband Noah, Granddaughter Miranda Padilla, her fiancé Dawson Grandson Ayden Padilla and Great Grandson Landon Oshields.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gregorio Padilla and her parents Victor and Maxine Sullivan.
