Salvador Alvarez, age 92, our beloved father, grandfather great grandfather and friend. Salvador went to be in the arms of his Heavenly Father on Monday, October 18, 2021 at his home. He was born in Mexico the son of Teodora (Alcaraz) and Jesus Alvarez. Salvador worked for various farmers in the Yakima Valley to provided for his beloved family. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Most of all he cherished time spent with his family. Salvador was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside.
He is survived by his devoted partner Tina Ledesma of Sunnyside, WA. Children Cande Alvarez of Sunnyside, WA, Ray Alvarez and Salvador Alvarez Jr. both of Yakima of Yakima, WA, Jose Alvarez of Sierra Vista, AZ, Angelica Alvarez of Selah, WA, Enoc Alvarez of Glendora, CA and Janie Alvarez of Yakima, WA. He is also survived by his seventeen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sunnyside, WA. Burial will follow at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.
