Our beloved Brother, uncle and friend Sammy Moreno passed away on Thursday September 3rd, 2026, at the age of 69. He went to be in the loving arms of our savior, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry his love with them always.
Sam was born September 21st, 1956, in Toppenish, WA. To Theresa H. Moreno. From the very beginning family was the center of his heart. His greatest joy in life was simply being surrounded by the people he loved. He cherished time with his family and friends, and those who knew him will remember his laughter and the love that he brought wherever he went.
Sam Worked for many years at the Daily Sun News, where he was a dedicated and familiar presence in the community. He also gave his time as a Volunteer at Sunny Haven Nursing Home, caring for and spending time with others. His willingness to give his time and be there for people was another reflection of the kind heart he carried throughout his life. Sam especially enjoyed family gatherings, BBQ's, Music, dancing, singing (especially his Grito) and spending time with the people closest to him. He was a proud Seattle Seahawks fan and loved watching sports, especially football.
One of the most meaningful parts of Sam's life was the bond he shared with his mother. He helped care for her and treasured every moment they had together. He also had a special relationship with his nephew Danny Moreno Jr., whom he loved dearly.
Sam was grateful for the family and friends who stood by him throughout his life. He shared a particular special friendship with Pat and Melissa Walsh, who did so much for him and were a meaningful part of his life. His family will always be so grateful for the love, kindness and care they showed Sam.
Sam will be deeply missed by his siblings, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends and those who were blessed to know him. Though his passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, the memories he created will remain in his laugh, his stories, his love for music and football, his love for family and the simple moments that meant so much. His family was his greatest joy and his memory will live on in every family gathering, every song, every Seahawks football game and every story shared about him.
