Our loving sister Sandra Lea “Sam” Turley, of Grandview, Washington, was taken into our Lord’s loving arms on January 25, 2024 at the young age of 64. Sandy “Sam” was born in Prosser, Washington on November 21, 1959, the fifth of nine children of William T. Turley and Juanita R. (Bower) Turley.
She was a long time resident of Grandview and a proud graduate of Grandview High School. Sandy never married; always claiming that made her the smartest of all her siblings and having no children of her own left her with an abundance of love to share with all of her many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Sandy was a determined and feisty woman, some would say stubborn, who was strong in mind, heart, and soul, an avid reader who loved a good joke (or a bad-dad joke) and while some of her jokes were slightly inappropriate she always got a kick out of being the first to share one with you that you had never heard.
She always enjoyed spending time with her family. But her favorite time of year was during Thanksgiving and Christmas, especially the Turley Family Christmas party, when her whole family would gather to celebrate the holidays with each other. She also loved her camping trips with the family to the beautiful Cascade Mountains.
Those left to honor and cherish the life of Sandy are her four sisters; Ramona Wall, Rachel (Bill) Moore, Lori (Harold) Findley and Mari Jo (Don) Norris and three brothers; Kerry (Diane) Turley, William “Skip” (Teresa) Turley and Robert Emery and so many nieces and nephews that we couldn’t possibly name them all.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Juanita R. (Bower) Turley and her sister Linda Huth and brothers-in-law Dennis Huth and Hugh Wall and sister-in-law Tondra Emery.
