Sarah Allan Obituary

Sarah E. Allan, 94, lifetime Yakima Valley resident went to meet the love of her life, Frank with open arms on August 30, 2021, she left peacefully surrounded by family at Prestige Nursing Home in Sunnyside, WA.  Her passing came as a result of receiving the Covid Vaccine and its complications.

Sarah Elenora Beard was born on the 9th month, 10th day of nineteen hundred twenty-six, (as she would say it when asked her birthday) in a white house in Mabton, Washington, to Bill and Ruby (Woodworth) Beard.  She was their first-born child, later to follow were 4 more siblings, Frank, Ruby, Edna, and Helen.  The family traveled quite a bit trading horses and animals to make a living until they settled down in the Toppenish/Wapato area.  Sarah received her education in Toppenish until the 8th grade when her mother passed away, she then stayed home to care for her younger siblings.   Sarah received her GED later in life.   She worked for 30 plus years for Del Monte during asparagus and corn seasons.  During the off season from there she was at Yakima Bait Factory.  But her true calling was caring for her family and friends and creating feasts that no one ever went hungry whether at home or the many years of rodeo trail where her and Frank were right there with her brother Frank and his wife Charlot.  If you were lucky, she made a beautiful wedding cake for your special day.  For many years Sarah was involved in the Toppenish Garden Club and the Alfalfa Grange as well always having a beautiful flower garden.

She met the love of her life, Frank H. Allan at the McKinley Grange and they wed on Aug 6, at the Luthern Church in Toppenish, WA.  They raised their 4 children, Robert “Bob”, Frank “Jay”, Randal “Randy” and Sandra “Sandi” in Toppenish but primarily the Satus where she lived 64 years.  Throughout the years Sarah was always considered “Mom”, “Aunt Sarah” or “Grandma” or even “Real Grandma” to so many but a few special people in her life were the late Linda Hofstad and her daughter Tommie Jo, Denny & Kay Widmyer, Troy and Amy Mears, Lola Cardenas and her daughter Selena, Viola Castro, Ellen Peterson and Linda Bulpitt.  Bonus grandsons Chad Sandifer, Tyler Morgan, John Knight, and Nick Lorenson.  She was also especially close to a few of her grandkids, Mikal, Mudd and Mike and great grandkids Laramie and Denim.

Sarah is proceeded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Frank. Her parents, her son, Robert “Bob” Allan, her son in law Mudd Walker, her siblings Frank (Charlot) Beard, Ruby (Vern) Metz, brother in laws Don Frazier, Gene Barnett and a grandsons Frank “Gene” Allan and Leonard Allan.  She is survived by her children Jay and Debbie Allan, Randy and Cheyenne Allan, and Sandi Walker. 7 Grandchildren Mikal Gadley, Mudd Walker, Mike Allan, Dale (Sandy) Allan, Christina (Stephen) Welch, Frank (Samantha) Allan, Kelly Allan. 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren as well as many others that called her Grandma.
