Sharon Baker Obituary

Sharon Baker of Mabton, Washington passed away on September 30th 2020.

In her final hours she was surrounded by her five children and she took her final breath with the love of her life Jerry, her husband of 56 years by her side.

She was born on May 9th 1947 in Baker, Oregon to Ralph & Muriel Church.

Two of the most important dates in her life were August 5, 1961 when she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and September 12, 1964 when she married the love of her life Jerry Baker.

Sharon was a faithful witness of Jehovah God her entire life and enjoyed teaching others about God in the ministry. She was a beautiful example of someone who loved her heavenly Father with all her heart and, together with Jerry, raised their five children to have the same respect and love for their Creator. Sharon loved God’s promises at John 5:28, 29 and Psalm 37:29 that one day she will be reunited with her family and loved ones on a paradise earth.

Sharon loved to go fishing, even if she didn’t catch anything, just sitting by the water with Jerry was one of her favorite things to do.

She also loved to paint & crochet, often giving away her creations to family and friends.

Sharon is survived by her husband Jerry; their five children: Jeffery (Sandee), Lisa (Matt), Brenda (David), Karla, and Pamela; ten grandchildren; and five great grandchildren with a sixth on the way. She is also survived by her three sisters and one brother: Almetta, Iris, Virgie, and Robert as well as numerous Baker brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law who were as much her siblings as her own.  She also had several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends from around the world that will all miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020, at 1:00 pm via Zoom. Electronic invitations will be forthcoming.  Those wishing to sign Sharon’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com  Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements
