Sherry was born August 8,1961 in Yakima, Washington to John Robert (Bob) and Edna Mae (Emery) Huffman. When she was brought home, there were two brothers and three sisters waiting. Several of her siblings were married already and they brought nephews and a niece for Sherry to grow up alongside.
Sherry knew no strangers and would often start a conversation with them. Laughter and smiles were her trademark, and she handed out love to everyone. She went to school for over 10 years. Between Edna and the school, she learned to read, write, and do math. Later she joined the Special Olympics.
As her parents aged, she was given the job of keeping an eye on Edna's purse and keys. While for her father, she made sure his coffee cup was full. Edna was her main caregiver until her death and then Bob took over. When the time came, Bob handed her over to Roberta Still, her sister and Arlie, her brother who became the one that handled the finances. When Roberta passed away, Sherry's care was handed over to Roberta's daughter, Tami Galland (Sherry's niece). Sherry went on to outlive her brothers, Jim and Arlie, and lived to the age of 63. But her body couldn't go on and she passed away on August 21,2024 in Wapato, Washington, surrounded by her loved ones.
She has left behind one sister, Frances Pardue of St. Helen, Or. and two sisters-in-laws, Heidi Huffman of Prosser, WA. and Yvonne Huffman of Sunnyside, WA and her niece/caregiver, Tami Galland of Wapato, WA. There are five nephews and two nieces plus so many great nephews and nieces.
She now has joined her parents, Bob and Edna Huffman and two brothers, Arlie and Jim Huffman and two sisters, Dorothy Dauphin and Roberta Lovern-Still. There are six nephews who have passed away.
