Shirley Jean Delaney

Shirley J. McDonald Delaney, 82, of Sunnyside passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 in Sunnyside, WA.  Shirely was born at home in Bellefonte, Arkansas to James and Fleeta Hogsed McDonald.  At the age of six she with her parents moved to Washington in 1947.  She later graduated from Grandview High School with the Class of 1959.  On November 4, 1961 she married Charles Delaney in Umatilla, Oregon, and to this union two daughters were born, Allison Jean and Karen Ann.  Shirely worked for various CPA Firms throughout the valley including Apol and Richards, Walt Bell and Associate, Kieth Sattler of Prosser, Washington.

Shirley is survived by her husband Charles and daughter Allison,  sisters Janita Wutzke (Benny), Nancy Schoenrock, Janie Eder (Bob), numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by daughter Karen Ann, parents James and Fleeta McDonald and parents-in-law Fred and Dorothy Delaney, sisters Patricia Beierle and Linda Wutzke,  brothers-in-law: Lenard Beierle, Steven Naegeli, Mike Schoenrock, Fred and Roy Delaney and  sister-in-law Mary Lou Delaney Mahre

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 8th, 2024 at 2pm  with a time of fellowship to follow all at the Eagles in Sunnyside, WA.  Those wishing to sign Shirely’s online memorial book may do so at www.funeralhomesmith.com   Smith Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
