Tanya Allen Obituary

Tanya Allen, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024, surrounded by her children. She was 79 years old. Born on March 3, 1945, Tanya lived a life filled with love, family, and a deep commitment to her community.

Tanya married Dennis Allen, and together they built a beautiful life in Portland, Oregon, raising their three children: Teresa Bonzi (husband Andy), David Allen (wife Kami), and Devri Russel (husband Rob). In the early 1990s, Tanya and Dennis moved to Sunnyside, Washington, where they purchased Ace Hardware and became cherished members of the Sunnyside community.

Tanya was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gayle, her brother Ed, her daughter Devri Russel, and other beloved family members. Despite these profound losses, Tanya remained a source of strength and love for her family and extended relatives.

Tanya played a special role in helping raise her nieces and nephew: Moira, Tracy, and Bradley, who cherished her guidance and love. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren: William, Blayke, Madison, Ryen, Tayler, Avery, Devyn, Jadon, and her great-granddaughter, Adelaide, who brought endless joy to her life.

In her later years, Tanya lived at Sunnyside Assisted Living with her faithful dog, Charlie. She found comfort and companionship there, and her family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents who cared for and loved Tanya so dearly.

A celebration of Tanya’s life will take place this spring, bringing together all who were touched by her warmth, generosity, and indomitable spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity that honors Tanya’s memory. Tanya will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and joy will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends.
