Our beloved sister, Theodora “Dori” Castro, passed away at the age of 55 on March 6, 2019. Dori was born on August 12, 1963 in Sunnyside, WA the daughter of Maria (Salinas) and Rodolfo Castro. Despite all her challenges since a toddler she was a loving person. She loved going to Wal-Mart and going to visit her parents at the cemetery monthly. She loved her caregiver Christina Guzman. Rest in peace beloved sister, no more pain, no more medications. You made it to Heaven Mañita. Dori, you get to spend eternity with God and Mom and Dad. The family would like to thank the staff of Community Living for all their love and care. We would also like to express our gratitude to all the first responders in helping our sister in her final need.
Dori is survived by siblings Rosie Lee of Yakima, WA, Joe (Anna) Montalvo of Soap Lake, WA, Delores (Ramiro) Gonzalez of Grandview, WA. Deana (Omar) Rocha of Sunnyside, WA and Dalia (April) Diskey of Troy, Ohio, caregiver Christina Guzman, nieces and nephews, Dori (Pat) West, Monica (Nick) Gamez, Nicole Castro, Romi (Liz) Gonzalez, Michaela (Tyler) Carpenter, Alexis Rocha, Mark Montalvo, Sheena Montalvo and Michael Montalvo and great nieces and nephews Aneisa West, Pk West, Akira Gamez, Alyzah Gonzalez, RJae Gonzalez, Bryson Gonzalez and Benjamin Carpenter. She is also survived by Uncle Ruben (Rachel) Castro and several cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Rodolfo and Maria Castro.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, Sunnyside, WA. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA.
