Timothy Arlen Knight was born on February 5, 1964, in Yakima, Washington, to W. Arlie and Alice Knight. He was one of five siblings: Arletta Langdon, Cary Knight, Alfred Daniel Knight, and Larea Champagne. Tim graduated from Grandview High School after attending school in the Grandview School District.
After a brief move to the west side of Washington, Tim returned to the Yakima Valley, living with his parents until their passing. He was then lovingly welcomed into the home of Mark, Dawn, and Chelsea Meyer, becoming a cherished member of their family for 30 years. He shared a special bond with Grandma Nikki, Grandpa Donald, and was affectionately called “Uncle Tim” by Chelsea’s children.
Tim’s radiant personality touched everyone he met. He loved spending time with friends and family, often embarking on many adventures. A daredevil at heart, he could frequently be found riding with his dear friend Chris on a side-by-side, scaling mountains. When Chris would ask, "How ya doing, buddy?" Tim, ever calm, would reply, “No issues here,” always ready for the next thrill.
As an avid Disney lover, Tim went with the Meyer family to both Disneyland and Disneyworld as often as he could. He had a passion for travel and made many wonderful memories wherever he went. As he would stand in line at Disney, he would position himself next to Mark and announce to anyone within earshot “Mark Meyer is my best friend!”
Faith played a significant role in Tim’s life, and he loved attending Anchor Point Church, where he felt accepted and safe. He was also a dedicated employee at Horizon, working for many years in both the St. Vincent de Paul clothing and janitorial departments.
Tim’s love for food was no secret. He would often clip recipes from magazines, leaving them on Dawn’s pillow with a hint of what he hoped to have for dinner. One evening, his request included a crown roast paired with a wedding cake. He also had a soft spot for chocolate cake and proudly considered himself a connoisseur of potpourri.
Tim’s life goal was to live to his 60th birthday. He had a fighting spirit and celebrated his 60th birthday with Mark, Dawn, and Chelsea in the NIACH Hospital. Tim is proceeded in death by his beloved mother and father, and his dog, Bob VonWiener.
In lieu of flowers, Tim would appreciate donations to the Sunnyside chapter of The Special Olympics.
