Trudy E Ritchie

Trudy E. Ritchie (née Schloss) passed away November 16, 2018 in Richland, WA surrounded by her loving family.  She was 74.

Trudy was born on August 30, 1944 in Bismarck, ND, the third of eight children to Joseph and Otilia (Gieser) Schloss. She graduated Grandview High School in 1962. On December 29, 1964, she married Roger Ritchie and together they had three children.  The Ritchie’s resided in Sunnyside and Grandview until relocating to Richland in 1995 to be closer their business, TR Produce that they owned and operated together at 1345 Lee Blvd in Richland until their retirement in 2014.

Prior to opening their business, Trudy worked for many years as a seamstress at Valley Cleaners in Sunnyside.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting, creating many beautiful pieces.  Trudy was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Roger, daughter Samantha (Scott) Taylor of West Richland, WA, Mitchell Ritchie, of Richland, WA, and Johnnie Ritchie of Pasco, WA, grandson Buddy Homuth of Seeley Lake, MT, granddaughter Angela Homuth, of Richland, WA and two great grandsons.  Brothers Frank (Karen) Schloss, Tom Schloss, Roger Schloss, Raymond (Mary) Schloss, sister Dorothy (Tom) Placzik.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Otillia Schloss, brother Tony Schloss, brother William Schloss.
