Donald Alan Mahre

Donald Alan Mahre age 92 of Grandview, WA passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 in Grandview, WA. Donald was born January 13, 1924 in Yakima, WA the son of Leo and Louise (Voelker) Mahre. Don graduated from Cowiche High School and later attended Perry Tech. In 1943 Donald enlisted in the U.S. Navy.  On April 28, 1945 Don married Rose Marie Gray at the St. Paul’s Cathedral in Yakima, WA.  Don worked for Crown Zellerbach Paper in Camas, WA as an Instrument mechanic. He also owned and operated Don’s TV and Radio in Washougal, WA and farmed grapes and cherries. Don enjoyed gardening, fishing, growing roses and ham radio.

Don is survived by his children Jeanette (Gary) English of Yakima, WA, Susan (John) Signor of Tampico, WA, Myra (Bruce) Beauchamp of Camas, WA, Nancy Mahre of Grandview, WA, Gloria (Dennis) Kirkpatrick, Rosanna (Paul) Ellis both of Vancouver, WA and Ted Mahre of Grandview, WA. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother Fred Mahre of Wapato, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife Rose Marie Mahre, children Mary Rose Mahre, Alan Mahre, Steven Mahre, Michelle Guild, Cindy Lucki, Daniel Mahre, parents Leo and Louise Mahre, siblings Leo Mahre, Shirly Shuff, Raymond Mahre and Kenneth Mahre.
