John was a faithful volunteer at Pioneer Elementary for many years. He helped many children with their reading and math. He blessed them with his love and caring attitude. His breakfast club is missing him. I am blessed to have many good memories of John! My thoughts and prayers are with John's family.

We are so sorry about John's passing. He was a good friend and always so helpful at St. Peter Claver Church. We will miss John as we have had him in our home on several occasions and also as a mentor to him for his love of stained glass. He was always so happy and excited to talk about his projects. We will miss you John!!! Our prayers are with your family.

I was blessed in having John volunteer in my SPED classroom at Pioneer Elementary in Sunnyside. He was always kind and gentle with the students. John will be missed (but not forgotten) by all who knew him. May John rest in peace with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I enjoyed my visits with Deacon John, when I could get a hold of him. He was pretty elusive. When he had his heart attack I knew I could find him in the hospital. He was proudly showing his before and after by-pass pictures. I didn't know one's heart could live with so little blood flow. It seemed his life was governed by his many physical limitations collected over many years. I never heard him be resentful., though I think it frustrated him no end. He seemed stoic about it, with a quiet trust that God had a plan for him through it all. "What are you going to do?," he would say when I would ask him about his health. I am sorry I didn't get to see him this last year. All is well now for you, sharing the Lord's resurrection. Deacon John put in a good word for us.

Our thoughts love and prayers go out to John's family. We have good memories of John being at St. Joseph's helping our daughter & son--law with their wedding rehearsal the night before their Wedding on a cold December evening in 1988. Thank you John.
Rest in peace!

May deacon John rest in peace. He was a fine, dedicated deacon. It was a privilege to be his pastor and to work with him at St Peter Claver many years ago. I am very sad that I am unable to be present for his funeral Mass.
