Saul I will always cherish the time I knew you at Chief Kamiakin. I will never forget your smile. Our talks at the bus about wrestling and how you would never let me borrow your sponge bob gloves or hat. Your body failed you early but your mind and heart was always so strong. Fly in the heavens. I shed tears of sadness but also joy to know you are no longer in pain.

Saul was such a joy to care for and he always made me smile. Even when he wasn't feeling well he was always upbeat and didn't allow anything to diminish his joy. We had many discussions about the Seahawks and he'd laugh because I never had a clue about the sport. He will be missed by all of the peds nurses at SHMC, he touched all of our lives.

Saul was loved and adored from the first day he came to our facility. We enjoyed his spontaneous laughter and cheerful smile. He was always friendly and smiley. He loved his wrestling programs and games and his music. A highlight of his life was being chief for a day with the police department. Today, I had reason to visit the department and his picture is placed on display with the officers of the Walla Walla police department in their lobby. We miss him very much. Rest in Peace our sweet friend.

We were all blessed to have spent time in Saul's life. His smile was a special gift and he shared it freely with those around him. It brightened everyone's day like a ray of sunshine. He had a giving and kind spirit and we are all better for knowing him. My deepest sympathy to his family. He will be remembered in my heart always!

Carrie,
You were his advocate and would go to any length to support him and those who loved him at Briton House and our school. I will forever appreciate your love and inspiration for us all who joined in loving him as a "family" in College Place.
Love,

Saul and I were friends. I was his science teacher in 8th grade at Sager Middle School and he was a light in my room every morning. Saul wasn't like other students. Saul was fun to be around, with a sense of humor that was a step above a typical 8th grader. He made me laugh. Saul was also just like other students. There were days when he didn't want to work. Saul could be stubborn sometimes. At those times, he and I would butt heads. I'd insist he get to work, he'd get frustrated with me. Almost every time we did that, we'd both end up smiling to ourselves. He was and still is a joy and I was lucky to know him.
He still makes me smile.

I am very saddened at the news of Saul's passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Saul, and some of his family, when he was (very appropriately) selected as College Place Police Department's 2014 Chief for a Day. He was so obviously delighted at being selected - his smile was infectious. The world is a little dimmer without Saul in it. But Heaven is brighter. Prayers and condolences to this wonderful young man's loved ones.

Thank you! I was Saul's teacher when he lived in Sunnyside. I know that being police chief for a day was a dream come true for him. He was very proud to show me his uniform and picture when I visited him in Walla Walla. He was a very special child. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of his life.

Teacher Barb,
We at Sager Middle School knew well of his love for his Sunnyside "school family".
He shared about the special Olympics races and medals he received from you and your husbands love and involvement for him or him in that. He showed me his medals too !!! You were a treasured gift to Saul !
Thank you for supporting and sharing with me through this journey of CHAMPION
SAUL !

Saul's selection for Police Chief of the Day at College Place WA was one of his greatest honors that he shared proudly with others. To let you know how proud he held that honor, his picture of being Chief of Police for the Day stayed near his bedside at Sacred Heart PICU (Spokane Children's Hospital) for many months. As his teacher since 2014, I join so many other hearts who were amazingly blessed by Saul's happy presence everyday at school. Saul taught me more than I ever could teach him with his brightest smile and sincere giving heart for others. He was a true champion and forever will be my HERO ! OX

Saul was so special to all of us here at John Sager Middle School! He was such an inspiration to us all! His beautiful eyes and gorgeous smile will live on in my heart and the hearts of all our students. I would always say hello to him and wait for his response, which I always received with a beautiful smile. My prayers for his family. May our father in heaven who is holding your child now in his loving arms, give you strength and courage to carry on! I loved Saul very much and I missed him, when he was gone. God bless you all!
