Stephen Roland Rutherford

On March 18, 2017 Stephen Roland Rutherford passed on to be with our Lord.  Stephen was born on September 26, 1948 in Seattle, WA the son of Idell Gertrude (Brown) and William Roland Rutherford.  Stephen grew up in Seattle and graduated from Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, WA.    After school he made a career as a truck driver working for Plymouth Poultry for forty years. On December 20, 1985 he married  Edree Poe in Seattle, WA. Stephen enjoyed camping, Seahawks, Sounders and spending time at the family summer cabin on Hood Canal, where he grew to love the area.  Another of Stephen’s passion was to mow his lawn which he took great pride in.  In his early years Stephen enjoyed racing sailboats.  Most of all the love of his family at work and home were priceless.  This dedicated father and husband will be missed and we can’t wait to see him again.  He left behind his wife, Edree Ruterford of Benton City, WA. Four children Dameon Poe (Charlotte) of Bothell, WA, Elana Poe of Moses Lake, WA, Johnathan Rutherford of Arlington, WA and Jacqueline Sarrano (Nick) of Lake Stevens, WA.  Three siblings Doug Rutherford and John Rutherford of Seattle, WA and Carrie Fincher of Valley, WA.  He is preceded in death by his parents William and Idell Rutherford.  Memorial service date and time will be announced.   Smith Funeral Home in Care of arrangements.   In lieu of flowers those wishing to honor Stephen memory may contribute to the Kadlec Cancer Center.
