My memories of Chieko were mostly from when I was a little kid. Chieko was always so sweet to me and was always happy to see me and my family. I'll never forget her one of a kind voice and laugh. Rest in peace Chieko. My condolences to her family.

Dear Uncle Duane,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Aunt Chieko's passing. She was such a lovely person. Always so kind and helpful. She had a wonderful laugh and sense of humor. I loved her laugh. She loved you and Glenn so much. I remember all the dinners at Mom's house sitting around the table and talking. She taught me how to count to 10 in Japanese when I was very young. I still remember. She was a very patient teacher. Living so far away, I hadn't seen her in such a long time which I regret. I remember her strong and warm hugs every time I saw her. She always had the nicest things to say. I will miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love, Linda

Dear Uncle Duane,
I am thinking of you at this sad time, I will remember Aunt Chieko with all the happy memories she has given me. From the time I met her she enchanted me, I tried to teach her English, she in turn tried to teach me Japanese, She taught me how to make Origami Paper cranes, which I taught my classmates and later my own kid's telling them " This is what my Japanese Auntie taught me". I was so proud of her when she came to my 4th grade assembly at Washington School in wearing her beautiful Kimono for a presentation at school.. She looked like a beautiful, exotic doll.
She was a very special lady, I will always remember her with a smile.

Duane,
We feel your loss. Chieko was a good long-time friend to my family. I’ll always remember the good times sitting around Mom’s kitchen table eating, laughing and telling stories. Our prayers are with you always.
