Caleb Perez

Caleb Perez passed away January 18, 2017 at the age of 22. He was born in Prosser Washington on June 10, 1994. Caleb was the third child of Petra and Nicolas Perez. Much of his childhood was spent in Grandview where his parents were ministers at a local church. Caleb’s family remembers him as being a happy, shy, and active boy. When Caleb was 12, the Perez family moved to Yakima, which is where he resided up until his passing. Caleb went to A.C. Davis High School and graduated with his GED on July 31, 2012. He also attended a few semesters at YVCC. Caleb held various jobs and was a dedicated worker.

Small things like facts about where he went to school and worked don’t adequately describe who Caleb was. There are some other small things that are more helpful. From a young age, Caleb loved skateboarding. He loved Tony’s Big Cheese Pizza, Pepsi, hanging out with friends, and video games. Caleb loved Pitt Bulls and was strongly against dog fights and cruelty to animals. Caleb loved to write and rap. He was a deep thinker and would honestly speak what was on his mind.

Most of all, Caleb loved his family. This was especially true about his daughter, Mia. She was one of the greatest joys in his life and his face would light up in a special way when he was with her.

Caleb is survived by his daughter (Mia), 5 siblings (Emmanuel, Elizabeth Priscilla, Mariana, Paloma, and Josue) and his parents (Petra and Nicolas). He was preceded in death by his grandfather (Santiago Perez Muñoz), his cousin (Alejandro Perez Martinez), and his sister (Paloma Jasmin Perez).

Viewings and visitations will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 2:00pm-6:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Grandview, WA. The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Smith Funeral Home in Grandview, WA. Burial will take place in the Grandview Cemetery, Grandview, WA.
