Gladys Viola Gobbi, age 96, formerly of Grandview passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Cairo, Georgia. Gladys was born November 25, 1919 in Baraboo, Wisconsin the daughter of Royal and Viola Watkins. Gladys graduated from Baraboo High School with the class of 1938. After high school she attended Business College in Madison, Wisconsin. While working for Inland Container Corporation Gladys met the love of her life Umberto “Bert” Gobbi. Gladys and Bert were married on September 5, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Pacific Grove, California. In 1948 Bert and Gladys moved to Fairbanks, Alaska where they lived for 27 years and were active members of the Church of the Nazarene. Gladys worked for the U.S State Attorney’s Office until 1975. They moved to Grandview, WA where they resided for twenty-five years.  Bert and Gladys were dedicated members of the Church of the Nazarene. Gladys enjoyed cooking, crafting, getting together with friends to share a meal or play games and baking for family and friends. She also loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gladys is survived by her children Connie Joiner (Jim) of Cairo, Georgia, Ron Gobbi of Portland, Oregon, Tim Gobbi (Ione) of Anchorage, Alaska and Becky Weaver of Kennewick, Washington. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Viola Watkins, her husband Bert and her 2 brothers Howard and Albert and 2 sisters Eleanor and Winnifred.

Viewing and visitation will be Friday, January 22, 2016 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 at the Church of the Nazarene in Grandview, Washington.
